Application of the Ideas of Gordon Zink, DO, FAAO

Who was Gordon Zink, DO, FAAO and what legacy did he leave for physicians who want to understand how the human body responds to the stress of everyday life and the traumas that occur throughout our lives. The workshop will introduce attendees to Dr. Zink, explore his contributions to osteopathic evaluation and treatment. We will examine in detail the Common Compensatory Pattern (CCP), its development, evolution, variations, how to efficiently evaluate it, sequence treatment and several options of how to treat it with different models. Completion of the workshop will enable participants to bring back to their practice a rapid evaluation system and practice experience in treating the findings.

Kursinhalt:
Funktional nach Johnston ist eine indirekte Behandlungsmethode, die mittels Stacking der ease-Positionen zum Release führt. Untersuchungsmethoden: 48-step Screening, Grundlagen von Functional als Prototyp einer indirekten Methode, ease und bind, Prinzip des zentralen Segmentes, Perkussions-Test, Seitneigungs-Test, Respirationstest, Stacking der 6 Bewegungsrichtungen + Atmung, Therapie an der HWS, BWS, LWS und Rippen, Erweiterung der funktional Methode auf die viscerale Therapie. Einführung in dynamisch funktionale Techniken nach Laughlin.

Der Kurs ist sowohl als Aufbaukurs, als auch als Postgraduiertenkurs belegbar. Darauf aufbauend wird ein CMD II Aufbaukurs fussend auf den Basiskurs als Postgraduiertenkurs angeboten.
Das Kiefergelenk und seine Funktion sind von grosser Bedeutung für die Integrität unseres Körpers. Es soll in diesem Kurs von seiner anatomischen und neurophysiologischen Seite betrachtet werden.

Vermittelte Inhalte:
Allg. Kenntnisse zum Kiefergelenk, der Mund- und Kaumuskultur (einschl. Dysfunktionen), neuroanatomische und neurophysiologische Zusammenhänge, Diagnostik und osteopathisch manuelle Therapie des Kiefergelenks und seiner Muskulatur. Einführung in die Therapie mit einer Aufbiss-Schiene in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zahnarzt/Kieferorthopäden.

Kursinhalte:
Als Aufbaukurs nach dem CMD 1 Kurs (Voraussetzung) werden nun Patient*innen vorgestellt. Der Kurs findet in der Zahnarztpraxis Dr. Gressmann in Neudrossenfeld statt. Nach kurzer Wiederholung des Untersuchungsablaufs aus dem CMD 1 Kurs werden die Untersuchungs- und Behandlungstechniken an Patient*innen zur Bißlageneinstellung rund um die Abformung angewendet. Erstellung und Anpassung sowie Feineinstellung von Aufbißschienen werden praktisch demonstriert. Die osteopathische Behandlung wird erweitert durch weitere Suturentechniken sowie Techniken für Bänder und Kapseln des Kiefergelenkes und des Mundbodens. Fallbeispiele und Strategien bei komplexen Störungen ergänzen die Fallbeispiele.Ab 2024 wird es einen CMD 3 Kurs geben, in dem interdisziplinärer Austausch in vorbestehenden Behandlerteams, ZB. osteopathischer Arzt/Ärztin und Zahnarzt/Zahnärztin oder auch Kieferorthopäd*in/-chirug*in und Vorstellung eigener Patient*innen möglich ist.
